The two most common materials for Malaysian households are Stainless Steel and HDPE (Polyethylene).

Stainless Steel: Highly durable and heat-resistant, keeping water cooler even in tropical heat. It does not rust easily and is often preferred for long-term use.

HDPE / Polyethylene: More affordable and easier to install due to its lightweight nature. These tanks are resistant to UV rays and cracking.

Standard Malaysian household usage is estimated at 200 litres per person per day.

Family of 3: A 2,000L to 2,500L tank is recommended to ensure a 2-3 day backup during water disruptions.

Small Households: Tanks as small as 300L to 1,000L are available for minor storage or space-constrained areas.
