Regular upkeep helps prevent bacterial growth, corrosion, and sediment buildup. 

Every Few Months Visual Inspection, Screen & Vent Check: Check the exterior for cracks, rust, bulging, or damp spots around the base. Ensure vents and overflows have fine mesh screens to prevent insects and rodents from entering.

Every Few Years Professional Cleaning: Deep clean to remove sludge and biofilm that accumulate at the bottom.

Component Testing: Regularly check that float valves, inlet/outlet taps, and any electronic pumps or sensors are functioning correctly.
